How lucky can we get?  Well, it turns out that we’ve just hit the jackpot with The James King Band coming to Poughkeepsie on Monday, June 24.  This band is one of our favorites and James King is one of the best traditional bluegrass singers on the scene today.

Seating is limited to only 70 people.  If you want to be sure to hear this band in an intimate setting, reserve your tickets right now.  This concert almost upon us and I, for one, can hardly wait!!!

James is a nine-time winner of the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music’s Traditional Male Vocalist of the Year award. To those folks, King’s emotive renderings of songs such as She Took His Breath Away, Bed by the Windowand 30 Years of Farming exemplify the essence of what bluegrass music is all about.

“I think the beauty of bluegrass is that it’s music that can reach people on so many different levels,” King said. “I’ve always wanted to be the kind of singer that brings those emotions to whoever is listening.”
