Special Consensus Delights All

It was a special Special Consensus Day in Poughkeepsie on Friday, February 11, 2011.  The students and faculty of Oakwood Friends School were treated to a concert and a presentation of bluegrass music by Greg Cahill, Rick Faris, Dave Thomas, and Ryan Roberts.  What an enthusiastic audience and what a great bluegrass “lesson.”  About 150 students attended the session that was followed by a question and answer period.

A special thanks to Fred Robbins, who was there to film the performance and to Jeremy Robbins, the Oakwood Upper School Dean of Students, for arranging the event.

The evening performance and jam was just totally awesome.  I don’t know who had the most fun…could have been the band, the audience, or the owners of the Sugar & Spice Café!  Everyone wanted the evening to go on and on and on.  It just had to be one of the most memorable jams for the HVBA.  Thanks to all for participating.  Thanks to Dave Angell for emceeing the event and to Special C for making the long haul up here from Nashville.
