HVBA Adds New Board Members

The Hudson Valley Bluegrass Association Board of Directors, at their January 2021 meeting, unanimously selected Andy Bing and Bruno Bruzzese to join them as members of the Association. Before his move to Albany, NY, Andy was a regular attendee at our monthly Pirate Canoe jams and was known to all as a bluegrass history whiz, as well as a top mandolin player. He currently writes the Educational Section for this website.

Few people know that before he moved to Brooklyn, Bruno played with a small group of bluegrass lovers up in Rhinecliff in the early 1990’s. This was right before the Hudson Valley Bluegrass Association was formally named and Incorporated. Sadly, he soon departed our area and only recently, upon retirement, has come back to us. We are grateful! Bruno is a strong banjo and fiddle player and we are delighted to welcome him “home.”

Andy Bing: I am pleased and very honored to be joining the HVBA Board. I look forward to working with my friends to help promote the cause of bluegrass music in the Hudson Valley. Many thanks to the Board for giving me this opportunity.

Bruno Bruzzese: I’m looking forward to the pleasure of being part of the Hudson Valley Bluegrass Association community and supporting the great music we love.
