We are sad to report the loss of a good friend and ardent lover of bluegrass music.
Howard L. Tubbs, 79, died on February 2, 2011 after a 15 year struggle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Howard had many interests, including maintaining and enjoying antique wooden boats, square dancing, and playing harmonica. Howard was a master carpenter, had a gentle, easy going nature, was always eager to lend a helping hand, and was a regular at HVBA concerts, especially during our early years. Our condolences go out to his entire family and friends, especially his wife Dolores. Anyone who has been connected with the HVBA since the beginning knows that Dolores was our very first member, served for many years as Secretary, Treasurer, and Membership Coordinator, and our first board meetings were held in Howard and Dolores’ home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Dutchess County SPCA.
