David Chernack’s Playlist – Bluegrass In Three

Whether you call it ”waltz time,” three-quarter time,” or simply “three,” bluegrass songs *not* in 4/4 time are where some of today’s artists shine the brightest. Although “Kentucky Waltz,” Blue Moon of Kentucky,” and Bill Monroe’s other timeless waltzes still endure today, 3/4 time doesn’t have to mean slow and schmaltzy either: Flatt Lonesome, Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, Michael Daves, and others rip up some high-energy numbers in three. Enjoy this list of great bluegrass in 3/4 time!
