A very important point, that I would like to make first, is the small sentence that may go unnoticed on the cover of this two CD set. It says; Benefitting St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. You can feel good knowing that 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of Life Goes On will be donated to St. Jude children’s research hospital. You can buy a great CD and help the children at the same time here, folks. This double CD (39 songs in total) gets my best reviews, and is highly recommended!
Lost and Found: “Fraulein”
Michael Cleveland – “Six Feet Under The Ground”
Tony Rice – “Manzanita”
This double CD set has a high energy beginning with “Katy Hill,” followed by “Good-bye to the Blues” by the Johnson Mountain Boys, a great tune here. Other notable cuts I especially enjoyed, include; “Ragged Man,” “Six Feet Under the Ground,” ” In the Time That You Gave Me,” (a great country song well done here), “Goin’ Across the Sea,” “Fraulein,” which reminds me of playing in my teens with a local country music guitar picker and singer named Jim McGhee, who did this tune. I wish he was still alive to hear this great stuff today. “Forty Years Ago,” “Hard Times,” “Paul’s Ministry,” “Rollin’ and Tumblin’,” “Precious Memories,” “Little John I Am,” “Smashville,” “Give My Love to Rose,” ” Where the Soul of Men Never Die,” “The Water So Cold,” ” The Turkey Buzzard,” “Shouting Time in Heaven,” ” At the End of a Long Lonely Day,” “Memories of Mother,” (Which might be one of my favorite bluegrass songs ever.), and finishing up the set, ” Life Goes On,” a great song by some great talents.
