This year we have four outstanding  bands to perform and the day begins with a 30 minute on-stage open jam, so bring your instruments for the 12:30cpm open jam and then join the crowd for a day of outstanding bluegrass music! Oh, and lots of great food, street vendors, fun….and did we say Bluegrass Music?

Hudson Crossing

Fall of 2018 marks the 9th anniversary of the founding of HUDSON CROSSING. From the very beginning H.C. has stayed loyal to the sound and style of traditional Bluegrass, but as the band members have grown musically H.C. occasionally steps out beyond the traditional borders to include songs that would not be readily recognized as Bluegrass. Their philosophy is simple: regardless of it’s original genre, if it’s a good song it can be played and performed tastefully and fun.

A carefully selected playlist of traditional, non-traditional and original music makes Hudson Crossing a band that truly does have something for everyone, and their performances are always lively and fun.

The band members are: Dave Cobb, Guitar and Mary DeBerry, Bass, both founding members. Steve Nash on Banjo, Steve Romerio on Mandolin, and Terry Ghee on Fiddle”

New Breaks

New Breaks is a band comprised of some of the Hudson Valley’s most experienced acoustic musicians. They perform a varied mix of classic and contemporary bluegrass with the emphasis on tight vocal harmonies. All are veterans of many local bands and have been honing their skills for many years. Frank, Gary, Rusty and Nina were all previous members of the Mama Tried Bluegrass Band.

Angell Bandd

If you take Traditional Bluegrass, Western Swing and Old Time Fiddle then you pretty much have the styles of music that influence the Angell band sound. They take the individual soloing from Bluegrass, the tight rhythm from Old Time Fiddling, and from Western Swing … well, that’s what lightens it up and puts a smile on their faces.

Composed of local musicians from Stone Ridge to Croton they met at bluegrass sessions in Poughkeepsie through the Hudson Valley Bluegrass Association.
The band members are … Terry Ghee on fiddle, Paul Rieder on dobro/harmony vocal, Jacques DeCroce on guitar, Ed Schaffer on mandolin/harmony vocal, Lynn Lipton on Bass, and David Angell vocals.

Bash Bish Bluegrass Band

As house band for the Taconic Wayside Inn in Copake Falls, NY., (mothership for old-time country music in Columbia County) Bash Bish plays every 2nd Saturday of the month at 4:30 pm.

The band features Jim Wright banjo/guitar/ vocals, Jamie Purinton guitar/vocals, Bev Kosak mandolin, Will McCabe bass, and Scott Camara dobro. Bash Bish also host some of the best fiddlers and bass players roaming the Hudson Valley.
