Last week too hard or too complicated? Well, here’s one from RIGHT NOW in the here and now, the present. About the woman who has won more Grammys than any other woman (so they say anyway). That’s right, everybody’s favorite bluegrass megastar, Alison Krauss.

AUGUST 12, 2022 TRIVIA QUESTION

This year Allison has temporarily hung up her bluegrass boots and gone back to touring with a former partner, who is Worldwide themself. Who is Allison touring with this year?

A. Robert Plant of LED ZEPPELIN
B. Bob Weir of THE GRATEFUL DEAD
C. Carrie Underwood (of the typewriter company?)
D. Paul Schaeffer of THE LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN
E. Emmy Lou Harris of O BROTHER WHERE ART THOU
F. James Taylor (you know…)

ANSWER is “A. Robert Plant of LED ZEPPELIN”

Additional Bowden Comments

Yes indeed, Allison made a very successful performing/recording partnership with Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant back in the 20-teens. The rest of the members of Union Station seem to have occupied themselves well, so Allison and Robert have booked a new tour this year. I can’t even imagine which of them benefits more from this association!!

I thought the other choices were fairly imaginative. A lot of bluegrassers are way into the Grateful Dead and do “DeadHead” tours. The Travelin’ McCourys leap to mind.

I thought someone might take the bait on Carrie Underwood but I guess the Trivia readers know better. Unless her family typewriter fortune was a “spoiler”.

I was particularly proud of the Paul Schaeffer idea…

Emma Lou Harris (Harry M Louis as some call her) was “too obvious”. She and AK sang together in “O Brother Where Are Thou?”

I’m with Steve Lipton in thinking Allison and James Taylor would make a good pairing.

Thanks for playing! Invite/challenge your friends!
